Responding to Community Needs Utilizing a Consultative Approach

Le rôle du psychologue scolaire a évolué du rôle de celui qui contrôle l’accès à l’éducation spécialisée à celui d’un agent de changement dans l’école. Cette évolution des priorités donne aux psychologues scolaires la possibilité d’avoir un impact au delà des murs de l’école. Cet article discute comment les psychologues scolaires peuvent contribuer à répondre aux besoins identifiés au sein de la communauté. Le modèle de consultation et son application à l’ensemble de la communauté seront examinés dans le contexte d’un programme qui a été développé pour viser un groupe d’enfants latinoaméricains qui ont été témoins de violence familiale. Des modifications au modèle de consultation sont discutées.
